Its a topical subject at the moment, the reclaimation process of Auckland’s Waitemata Harbour. And imagine our surprise when we discovered this beautiful artwork in our filing cabinet. It looks like this was our proposal for the Princes Wharf in October 1986 (complete with sea plane). These were drawn by hand, by Jamal who worked for the company at the time (when it was under the name Dodd Paterson Newman Pearce)
Aren’t they fantastic?
Obviously our proposal didn’t get built, and there are a few new buildings on the skyline, but its such a lovely glimpse of the time. You can see a couple of our buildings in there – the West Plaza building, and the Harbour Board building – can you spot them?
